Smoke, haze, fog, and strobe effects may be used in AMTSJ-produced shows and touring productions presented by AMTSJ. The fluid used in smoke/haze machines is made from water-based materials; each approved by the FDA and conforming to the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) regulations. The fluid comes with a material safety data sheet (see link below for more information).
Whenever smoke, haze, fog, and/or stroboscopic effects are used, clear warning signs are placed at the theatre to forewarn susceptible people. Strobes are never used for prolonged periods.

March 4 – 16, 2008
Book by Joe Masteroff
Based on the play by John Van Druten
Stories by Christopher Isherwood
Music by John Kander
Lyrics by Fred Ebb
Broadway production directed by Harold Prince
Produced for the Broadway Stage by Harold Prince
Winner of 12 Tony® Awards combined for the original and revival productions, “Cabaret is a stunning musical and brilliantly conceived,” so says The New York Times. In the early days of the Nazi regime, the Kit Kat Klub is a decadent refuge from the political turmoil outside. The cabaret’s gleefully lecherous emcee greets patrons “Wilkommen” and offers social commentary between numbers by English expatriate and party girl Sally Bowles. She is resistant to the ominous changes around her and continues to believe that life is a cabaret. The 1972 hit film musical by Bob Fosse and the recent Broadway revival at the infamous Studio 54 discothèque are proof positive of this unflappable masterpiece.
A co-production with The 5th Avenue Theatre in Seattle, Washington – David Armstrong, Producing Artistic Director and Marilynn Sheldon, Managing Director and Ordway Center for the Performing Arts in St. Paul, Minnesota – Patricia Mitchell, President & CEO and James A. Rocco – Vice President of Programming and Producing Artistic Director
At the San Jose Center for the Performing Arts.
